LNF: Literacy → Writing → Planning and organising for different purposes, audiences and context
A secure Year 3 response, annotated so you can see which success criterion each part meets. It is also the answer key. Picture order: D, B, E, A, F, C. Bossy verbs in the bird bath: fill, put, wait. The science in the instructions is correct: cress seeds need water, warmth and light, and cress is usually ready to cut after about a week.

How to grow cress in an eggshell
You will need: a clean, empty eggshell, an egg cup, a felt-tip pen, cotton wool, water, cress seeds and scissors.
1. First, draw a funny face on the eggshell and stand it in the egg cup.
2. Next, put some cotton wool inside the eggshell.
3. Then pour a little water onto the cotton wool until it is wet.
4. After that, sprinkle cress seeds on top of the cotton wool.
5. Place your eggshell on a sunny windowsill and add a few drops of water every day.
6. After about 7 days, ask an adult to help you cut the cress. Finally, eat it in a sandwich!
Title, list and numbered steps in the right order; every step starts with an ordering word or a bossy verb; sentences are short so Year 2 can follow them. This is the main literacy evidence. Evidences criteria 3 and 4.
Keep the cotton wool damp because the seeds need water to grow.
Evidences criterion 5.
If the cotton wool dries out, add a few drops of water straight away.
